AMALIA MACK

I recently received my Master Esthetician license and am working full-time at a Medical Spa in Ashburn. I am also teaching Hip-Hop dance classes at Encore Performers. My piano studies have helped developed my skills as a dancer through rhythm and technique; as well as the dexterity that I find in my esthetician career.

After studying under the tutelage of Mrs. Kim in high school and graduating from the Clifton Piano Studio, I went on to George Mason University for a B.S. in Biology. In my first semester there, I continued my piano playing with a cello-piano accompaniment and sightreading class, as well as private lessons. In 2019, I graduated with my BS degree and was accepted into dental school!

I am now a rising 4th year dental student at the Adams School of Dentistry at University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. I will be graduating next May with my DDS degree and hopefully will also be matching into an orthodontics residency program. I continue to play piano in my free time, trying to keep up my classical repertoire as well as expanding into other genres for fun, such as movie songs and anime OSTs.

My journey with piano taught me several important lessons about perseverance, focus, and discipline. I am thankful for my piano background and the opportunities it afforded me in competitions, applications, and much more. As a pianist and soon-to-be dentist, I'm glad that I'm able to blend my passions and our two universal languages: music and smiles!

LANVY YOUNG

Hello! Since graduating from Clifton Piano Studio, I've been studying Biology at George Mason University. I still play the piano sometimes during study breaks and in my free time, and I have also been attempting to learn more jazz harmony, although I haven't made much progress as of yet :) My current goal is to become a doctor who can not only heal others physically, but also heal others mentally with the help of music therapy. Through playing piano and guitar, I've realized that music can make you feel better at any time and can help heal the soul.
